NZ Birds

I am learning to identify some facts about New Zealand birds.

Takahe are endangered and they eat tussock grass.

Ruru have big eyes that help them to see in the dark. they are nocturnal.

Kea is a cheeky parrot that are clever.

  7. Jamie, I love your bird photos! Remember the ruru in our class that we made from old records and CDs? Some are still hanging in the school office area. And I hear that one of them is now up in a tree on the Lake Ngatu walk. Maybe you and your family can go on a bird hunt around the lake?
